A member asked:

My heart reacts hours after a stressful thing happened. in short, dalayed reaction. i looked it up and i think it's stress cardiomyopathy. should i go to a doctor or it's okay not to? and will this disease lead to a life threatening one?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Although there may well be a mind-heart connection in stress cardiomyopathy, I don't think this is what you experience as episodes have symptoms severe enough to land them in the hospital. I recommend stress management therapy by a mental health professional to help deal with stress& anxiety. Stress cardiomyopathy is a serious condition & most of these patients have a psychiatric history
