A member asked:

Could period delay and booster vaccine for covid-19 be interlinked?

Unlikely. If you had sex since your last period and missed your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex.

There have been recent studies showing menstrual irregularities after the COVID vaccine. These appear to be temporary and within the normal ranges of irregularities. If your period is significantly late, and you are sexually active, please do a pregnancy test. If not, please discuss further with your doctor. There is no evidence that that the COVID-19 vaccine causes infertility.
