Some reports of Guillain-Barre are associated with the various vaccines, but the relationship in unclear. Association with the native infection is rather rare, and may or may not be related. The typical GBS presentation is an ascending weakness which can present as a medical emergency. There is no accurate way to predict who may acquire this.
