The answer is partly dependent on your ethnicity. From my experience, vitamin D level of 29 in colored people is not truly low but it is low in light skin people. If you have light skin, a daily 2,000 units a day after a month of 4,000 units/day for the initial level of 29 ng/ml is enough. If you have dark skin with initial level of 29 ng/ml, a daily dose of 1,000 units is enough.
