Confused & concerned, hoping for insight, 92 y/o mom wakes up every morning very disoriented,walks around house questioning what happened night before, where people sat, where items are placed, goes on at least an hour or two,then better, why is this?

As I understand your situation, your mom is ok through most of the day, but wakes up confused. It sounds like this confusion clears after some time, with the pattern repeating each morning. Given that, I wonder what happens at night that causes this. The likely suspects would be medicines or perhaps some sleep disturbance such as sleep apnea. A thorough Geriatric evaluation is the best next step.

Agree with thorough geriatric evaluation and would rule out medication adverse effects but also evaluate cognitive changes secondary to dementia
