A member asked:

The cdc has cryptic language when it comes to what day the 4th gen ag/ab lab test is conclusive. it says the 4th gen lab test should be taken after the window period which is 18 to 45 days. so should i take the test at 46 days? is it 100% conclusive?

At day 46th, the fourth generation HIV test is very accurate and reliable but you should know that there is no test in medicine is 100% conclusive which means false positive or false negative may still happen.

It is nearly conclusive but rare instances of variation can not be ruled out as pointed out by Dr. He. Visit this site for info: HIV test window periods https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/hiv-testing/test-types.html
