Please see dental specialist in Oral Medicine and/or Oral Pathology. Your local Dental Society should be able to provide you with lists of these specialists. You may also want to be examined in the Department of Oral Medicine at a Un diversity Dental School. If you feel like tissues are swollen, but health care practitioners see no swelling, a visit to a Neurologist may be in order.

Please see a hospital based oral pathologist. They train in extensively diagnosing and treating these lesions. Visualization does not always provide a differential diagnosis, a biopsy may be necessary. I also do not believe it is allergy related.
