A member asked:

I have had a case of acute pancreatitis, i had not been drinking alcohol for a month or so already before the attack, and the cause was inconclusive. so here's my question: can i bypass damage to the pancreas by absorbing the alcohol transdermally?

def: The meaning of TRANSDERMAL is relating to, being, or supplying a medication in a form for absorption through the skin into the bloodstream. When you drink alcohol, it gets absorbed into your bloodstream as well. Absorption of alcohol through the skin is negligible, so it's a mute point. Abstain to avoid further issues.

No. Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, damage testicular cells that make testosterone, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.
