I always did gonorrhea and chlamydia testing, and they always are negative. but i never get tested for herpes. i recently did a std panel for stds including herpes. results show hsv-igg 1& 2; 56 h and 5.53 h. does that mean i had it in the past? help?

Positive IgG means you had HSV some time in the past, as have most people. If you don't have any clusters of painful blisters, you probably don't have it now.

Yes. You should tell you sex partners about your HSV 2 positive status as you can transmit even when there are no open herpes lesions. Had my Doctor run a STD Panel on me. Everything was negative except for Herpes 2. It came back with a reading of 4.08 IGG for HSV 2. HSV 1 was negative at .17 IGG. I have not had any breakouts I am aware of. False Positive possible?
