I would apply 2x/d and not expect any visible change for 2 weeks. Return of normal skin appearance can take months. It 2-3 weeks don't appear to help it may not be tinea.

First of all, it might not be tinea. Even if it is, OTC Lamisil cream doesn't always work. A dermatologist can tell you if you have something else -- and if it's just a stubborn case of tinea, can give you prescription-strength treatment for it.
