A recent large study suggested that Tylenol could have long term developmental effects, which is probably what prompted the text from your doctor. It is always wise to avoid any nonessential medication during pregnancy, but Tylenol has been very widely used and remains the best option to manage fever, which we KNOW can be hazardous.
