Can i take two different antibiotics at the same time? i have a uti & an infected tooth & my dentist appointment is tomorrow. im assuming im gonna need antibiotics for both but is the possible? can i just drink a lot of cranberry juice?

Yes, you can take 2 antibiotics at the same time if indicated. We often prescribe 2 antibiotics at the same time when we want a broad spectrum coverage without culture result. Sometimes, we can use one stone to kill 2 birds, e.g. cephalexin (Keflex) or amoxicillin/clavulanate (augmentin) can be used for both tooth and bladder infection if we have urine culture result or we base on history.

It depends on the antibiotics. But by and large you can. Pl let your dentist know what you are taking and she/ he will adjust the antibiotic they propose to give. Cranberry juice is good but not a substitute for an antibiotic. Don't worry you will be OK

Different bacteria may require the same or different antibiotics. WhileITI will probably be cured chemically, infected tooth will require both antibiotics and physical dental care. Inform both practitioners of the treatment provided by the other. And be sure to take all meds exactly as directed.
