The process of urination is secondary to contraction of the smooth muscle of the bladder wall, and while contraction of striated muscle surrounding the urethra can slow or stop urination , it is not an immediate effect, so leakage will continue for a few seconds.

The smooth muscle shincter which stems the flow of urine from the bladder does have a volitional overide, but it does take a determined effort particularly if the bladder is full. There are ocasions when we want to stop and start urinary flow, particularly for some analytical tests. But normally this is not an issue. Let it flow and pray it does no drip once finished. It is not a problem.

Try this. Squeeze your anal area muscle as hard as you can hold it for as long as you can then relax. Do this 10-15 times several times a day. You will soon find that you can control your stream better in a few days. Keep up the exercise and gradually you will have good control. Good luck
