Being sick is common and the symptoms you have are usual. With all the additional precautions we are taking for the Covid varients we are decreasing the rate of infection with the common flu viruses, but they are still present and "trying" to infect new hosts so that they can keep reproducing. Stay warm, drink pleanty of fluids, eat well and stay home, you will be over it soon.

There are other viruses apart from COVID 19 that could cause respiratory symptoms like you have. The important thing is that you are getting better. The mucus in the throat may just be part of the body recovering from the inflammation to the airway caused by the virus.
