A member asked:

Why would hydrocodone show up on my drug test if i am on tylenol 3??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drug tests look for the actual drug and its breakdown products, called metabolites. Tylenol #3 is actually a combination of Tylenol and codeine. Hydrocodone is a metabolite/breakdown product of codeine and is expected to be found when taking Tylenol #3.
