It is removed as part of any surgical procedure to treat it. If it is gone, it is not there to rupture. A patient can have other abdominal conditions that mimic appendicitis or acute abdominal disease.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. About 2% of the people have Meckel's diverticulum which is like appendix and can produce similar symptoms when inflamed and could rupture.
