A member asked:

Bv and yeast infection at the same time. doctor gave me flagystatin to use for 10days. what is the recovery rate? can bv or yeast infection cause pelvic inflammatory disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They will not cause pelvic inflammatory disease. Immediate response to treatment is usually very good. They can recur if the normal vaginal bacterial population does not recover well and if underlying problems like diabetes or recurring antibiotic treatments are not addressed. Probiotics might be helpful, and natural sources are live culture yogurts and kefir.
