Rubbing your eyes can increase the intraocular pressure (pressure within the eyes). If the pressure is high enough, it can impede blood flow into the eye, causing a decrease in arterial blood flow and loss of vision. However, it would not likely be only central vision. Migraines can also cause a temporary loss of vision. Try not rubbing your eyes and see your ophthalmologist.
