I am taking a hydrocortisone cream for my poison oak, but it is not working. what else can i do?

Please see your doctor to make sure that there is no secondary bacterial infection.

Poison oak will dry out & heal on its own in 2 weeks if you keep the area clean. If anything the HC cream just reduces itching, which you can do with a cool compress. If the site is draining straw colored or other fluid it may have been invaded by staph or strep & require other therapy.
