Salt (NaCl) is not potassium chloride (KCl). Potassium chloride is used as a salt substitute for people with high blood pressure. KCl should not be used for people with advanced kidney failure because of high K content.

Potassium occurs naturally in bananas, avocado, lima beans, spinach, sweet potatoes, apricots, pomegranates, peas and beets. Chloride is a completely different chemical found in Tomatoes, leafy greens, olives, seaweeds, and rye grain. The combination of potassium chloride is not typically found in nature. In processed foods, it is an additive: breakfast cereals, breads, Nut spreads, canned sauces.
