If patient has been anuric (urine output less than 300 cc/day) for years, it is extremely to have good urine output again. I see anuric patients for a couple weeks or even months then regaining urine output above oliguric range again but I've never seen a case regaining good urine output after several years. Try to collect and record volume/day for at least a week, then talk to nurse and doctor.

Depending on cause of renal failure I have reported a patient who come off dialysis once excellent BP control has been achieved. Discuss with your nephrologist.
