Poorly administered injections resulting in SQ as opposed to IM, can allow leakage through injection site which will decrease the effect of the medication. Another booster shot may be necessary for full protection against COVID-19.

A local reaction reaction is not uncommon and a small amount of bleeding at the site of any injection doesn't necessarily indicate a SQ injection. If there is concern though, request another booster in 14 days.
