Being able to see is too important to be messing about with. You have been diagnosed with a significant clinical problem and you need to take the advise of your opthamologist. 74 is young, you may have a long time to go, and you don't want to be groaping around do you? Best wishes

Usually macular pucker causes slow change in central vision with distortion. Many times the distortion stays the same for years. Those eyes that worsen, this worsening of vision is usually slow. Macular pucker can lead to significant decrease in central vision so that one may not be able to read and recognize faces etc. Usually the peripheral or side vision is not affected by macular pucker.
