The longest verified human lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), who lived to age 122 years and 164 days. A person could live longer, but there is no verified instance of a person having lived longer.

Methuselah is cited in the Bible, Book of Genesis, as having lived 969 years. There is no documentation elsewhere of life span even close to this. These days, a human does well living beyond 100 years.
