A member asked:

Are the hr changes associated with pots greater than 30 bpm immediately upon standing? or does the increase need to be sustained?

This will depend on how much BP falls and your symptoms and the cause of your POTS. Discuss with your Dr there who will know the normal values for men like you.

You will have a sustained high heart rate when standing up, the rate will be higher compared with sitting heart rate but it will not be as high as the heart rate right after changing position. In your case, standing heart rate will be 10-20 higher than the sitting or supine heart rate.
