Nerve entrapment: If one of the nerves to the toe is entrapped or enlarged (neuroma), electrical sensations will often radiate out to the toe. See a podiatrist. They will likely try a cortisone injection or two to calm the nerve down. If pain persists, sometimes the pinched portion of nerve is removed.
