Coughing is a protective action that helps clean the lungs. It allows debris triggered by accumulation of mucous or damaged cells to be moved from deep areas up to the outlet to be expelled. It will subside when it has stopped accumulating which could be a month or more. Infection after full vaccination is now considered likely for everyone but impairment is less involved.

Would urge you to have a chest X ray or CT scan to rule out a superimposed bacterial pneumonia.

I agree that you may have a secondary infection, but the COVID 19. infection is also associated with cough. The cough may linger and if it persists for more than three weeks, bronchospasm may also be considered.
