Sounds worrisome: Black-colored stool could be dietary (like if you are eating oreo cookies, black-colored foods, taking pepto bismol, (bismuth subsalicylate) licorace) or it could mean you have a bleeding ulcer! if you are having more of a loose, black stool; then it is even more concerning. An ulcer in the stomach puts blood into the intestines which acts like a laxative and turns the stool black. Test your stool for blood with your dr.
