You may feeling the head of the upper arm bone, humerus, it would be normal for it to feel hard. You may need to engage in regular exercise to improve your muscle strength and flexibility. Any exercise will do. Start with intensity and time as tolerated and gradually increase the intensity and time of exercise so that you exercise about 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week.
