Inflammation: If there is no recent arm trauma, you may be dealing with tendonitis of the elbow or an epicondylitis near the elbow. Both conditions respond to avoiding strain of the arm and, if you can take them, anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Aleve. If symptoms don't resolve, consult your physician or an orthopedic specialist.
