A member asked:

If some saliva or water gets into the lungs, can it be released out after doing some exercise? and how to know if it went to lungs or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cough......Any foreign material of importance that enters the lungs will trigger an immediate cough response to expel it. If it did not trigger a cough, relax. Any tiny amount was tolerated and removed by normal lung protective mechanisms. This would occur whether you exercise or not.
