Burning sensation from stomach area to the throat is quite consistent with gastric reflux (GERD). Even without spicy foods, stomach content is always acidic so the burning sensation is felt because the mucous membrane of your food pipe (esophagus) and throat is not used to that acidic juice. Symptom will be more typical if it occurs when you lie down after a meal.

Time to be fully evaluated. Swollen tonsils should be evaluated by ENT, acid reflux by a gastroenterologist. Neither problem should be ignored, and may be associated.

Hello. GERD (heartburn) or LPR (silent reflux) can both be the source of your troubles. Try some OTC antacids (tums), H2 Blockers (Pepcid) or a Proton Pump Inhibitor (Prilosec). Any of these can be used for a short time to see if you feel better. If after the medication is completed (after ~ 10 days), and you feel like the problem is worsening, see your doctor for a GI evaluation.
