A member asked:

Is there anyway to know if nerves won't regain feeling and movement after trauma ? without seeing neurologist? my nerve pain has decreased and i'm very concerned?

Waiting too long after nerve trauma could prove disastrous. You need to see a physician who can properly assess the nerves and the damage done during the trauma in order to not have permanent neurologic injury. Once the nerves die it is irreversible. You state that you were concerned. All the more reason to have this checked out right away.

Am confused by your concerns, yet, your reluctance to see neurologist to objectify. You do not provide details regarding causation or location in body. The absence of nerve pain can be a sign of the extent of your injury. Perhaps an EMG study can provide descriptive data and prognosis. Recommend virtual consult to put this into perspective (www.connect@healthtap.com)
