A member asked:

I got a deep cut on the front of my middle finger and it bled a lot. i bandaged it tightly and a little blood seeped through. as of now there is a dull throbbing pain. do i need to see a doctor? is the vein on the middle finger on the back or front?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dull throbbing pain suggests that the bandage may be too tight. If you loosen the bandage and the wound bleeds, go to the emergency department of a nearby hospital. If the wound is gaping it would be preferable to have it stitched at an ER. Veins are on the side of the finger not the front or back. Apply triple antibiotic cream to the wound. Wish you good health!
