I am getting cornea scrapping and wondered how they would do it with not being put in light sleep? i am 78 what would the healing be approximately?

While richly innervated, the corneal nerves completely go numb with topical anesthetics. Corneal scraping involves removal of diseased tissue on the top of the window to the inside of the eye and you will feel nothing. Healing takes usually 1-3 days and you will be given means to minimize pain during healing.

It depends on why you’re having a corneal scraping. The procedure itself can be anesthetized with topical medication, often a bandage contact lens is placed on the eye following the procedure while healing occurs
