All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a value of 87 is not meaningfully different from 90. You may consult a nephrologist if suggested by your primary care provider. Wish you good health!

That result means your estimated GFR by the formula CKD-EPI is 87 cc/min/1.73 m2 if your race is not African American. By estimate, at 49 years old a normal GFR should be equal or above 90 cc/min and that's why it states low eGFR. This result is estimated for a person, female in your case, with an average BSA of 1.73 m2. Your estimated GFR will change if your BSA is higher or lower than 1.73 m2.
