A member asked:

If an unconscious person was lying on their side with their turned head resting in another's lap, would they be relatively safe from airway obstruction? at least, is there a chance the airway wouldn't get obstructed?

Chance of airway obstruction is minimized with turning the person on his (her) side unless that person has obstructed airway due to foreign body. That's why after we successfully resuscitate a person, we lay him (her) on his (her) side with the opposite hand under the cheek and we call it the rescue position.
