It is very difficult to tell you why you are having swelling of your face and tongue, but some medications can certainly do this. I would like to know if you have swelling in other areas such as your legs. What type of medication(s) are you taking? There are several blood pressure medications which can cause significant/dangerous swelling which may obstruct breathing etc.. consult your doc ASAP.

I agree with Dr. Nguyen, but also could be allergy to something near you during sleep. Do you have a new pillow, new detergent, new pet?
