Wild card.: This could be a plugged salivary gland. These swell when salivary flow increases (often before and at mealtime) and shrink up when is decreases; this cycles through a typical day. It could also be something either more or less serious. See your dentist or oral surgeon and get a first-hand evaluation with a plan of action; put it behind you & worry no more ;-).

See an oral surgeon: This needs to be evaluated by an oral surgeon. It might be that one of your gland ducts are obstructed. Meanwhile try to eat sour stuff to increase your salivary flow.
