Since you only note the wheeze while sleeping, have no persistent hoarseness and the chest ct scan didn't show a tracheal tumor I suspect that you're dealing with a nonserious upper respiratory tract situation. Nevertheless I would like to have an evaluation and opinion from an otolaryngologist for diagnosis and treatment options.

Hello. I agree with the 2 imaging studies being negative, allergy or reactive airways are possible. If Stridor is “noisy breathing”, then snoring/sleep apnea could be present. An ENT evaluation will provide an endoscopic evaluation of the upper airway and since you asked about OTC medications, I would agree with the antihistamine but I’d also recommend saline rinse then follow with Flonase.
