The only general side effect on the heart is increased heart rate (less than 2%). In patients with current cardiovascular problems, there were rare reports of vascular events, up to and including heart attacks that needed bypass or stenting. Overall, in non-cardiac patients, there are no problems short or long term I could find other than the increased heart rate, as above.

I have been taking 5-htp 100mg daily and 25mg pristiq (desvenlafaxine) for 4 weeks and starting to feel agitated, short of breath, tired .and a bit dizzy. ?
I have form of mds-refractory anemia. Let's get into that later. Have extreme drug reactions when using a new drug-siezures difficulty breathing etc. Dr want to do pristiq/imitrex istead of pristiq/fiorocet. I'm scared of severe reaction (always low hct)
