Abrupt discontinuance is not recommended even with short term use and not very high dose . It is safer if you can taper then stop after 2 weeks by using lower dose each day then q other day.

Also depends how often you took the Ativan. .5 mg 4x/day may well lead to withdrawal symptoms but 2 mg/day at one time likely will not. Best of luck!
