Hiatal hernia since 2015. just started having more problems suddenly. throat red from acid, chest pain after eating, and lots of burping. nothing helps. 2 protonix and 1 pepcid doesn't help. how do i know if it's stuck? the pain is pretty bad?

Worsening of GERD symptoms with no response to PPI's ( protonix) should prompt imaging studies, endoscopy specifically by your treating gastroenterologist. If not having one, now would be the right time to ask for help, start with your primary care doc.
