It is normal for the testes to move up if he is cold or frightened. It is easiest to have him lie down while he is comfortable and feel if they are in the scrotum or in the inguinal canal (the passage up towards his belly). It would be best to have his doctor check him at his next appointment just to make sure that all is well.

The cremasteric muscle of the scrotum in children is very sensitive so the testicle can move up into the groin area on touch, cold, pain etc. It is best to observe the child while he is squatting or standing and avoid touching if possible for that can make it go up.
