A member asked:

How does one advocate for oneself w/o being labeled "demanding"? i'm filing a complaint with the hospital, but as a sca survivor with pots, who knowingly went to er having had minimal fluid i&os for days, requesting iv fluids = "demanding"? how so?

If you could drink water, an electrolyte drink, fruit juice etc. there would be no need to give IV fluids. Wish you good health!

The question is why did not your an IV. Is it possible that you did not need it? Having patients demand something is that is not needed is extremely common. Most likely it comes from a certain unrealistic understanding of health care or poor communication to the patient
