Can you tell me would a stroke survivor need oxygen for the first 48 hours in hospital , what is the physiological reason?

Many: Some patients need extra oxygen when they are in the hospital (stroke or other reason). It may be because they are mostly in bed and get deconditioned or they have little higher oxygen requirement to begin with (common for smokers).
