It is possible that the act of intercourse caused the period to come early, but the continuous bleeding can also be from a vaginal tear. If the bleeding is from an early period it should follow the typical menstrual course that you are used to. If it lasts longer, is heavier or is accompanied by unusual pain, see your Dr for a full examination.
