A member asked:

Hi, i just wanted to know if continuous bleeding after intercourse is normal for a female after her first time? her period was supposed to come about 2-3 days after this day so is it likely that the period just came early?it started after intercourse?

It is possible that the act of intercourse caused the period to come early, but the continuous bleeding can also be from a vaginal tear. If the bleeding is from an early period it should follow the typical menstrual course that you are used to. If it lasts longer, is heavier or is accompanied by unusual pain, see your Dr for a full examination.

Agree with Dr. Kratzberg. If you have pain at the opening of the vagina or see a would, you may watch and wait. If there is a raw area, apply triple antibiotic cream to prevent infection. Get HPV, Flu and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health! Safe sex: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/safer-sex-guidelines
