The panus is found typically where fat accumulation has caused the skin elasticity to weaken and droop. Inside the skin of the panus, you would expect to find layers of fat cells. Since fat cells can grow or shrink to accumulate fat, the only non surgical way to reduce a panus is to reduce the fat, through weight loss. As the fat cells shrink, the weight on the skin lessens and the droop lessens.
