Recovery from covid is varied . Most people recover completely but the duration varies. Stay under the supervision of your MD and there is a very high possibility of full recovery if you do not have other co-morbid problems. Please encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated. COVID-19 invades the nasal passage and compromises function in the olfactory nerve near the base of the brain. Altered taste is secondary. Typically this will reverse over several weeks, but may take up to 3-4 months for satisfactory resolution. The positive from such a negative, is presence of high levels of nasal and sinus IgA, which cannot be conferred from the vaccine.
