HIV is transmitted by infected blood entering your blood stream. Unless your partner had a cut on the hand and blood entered your blood stream through an open wound, there is a very low probability of your contracting HIV. Avoid risky behavior if you don't know your sexual partners well. If you still have concerns arrange for the series of testing by your MD or at a sexual health clinic near you.
